With the joint efforts of former president of NCTU Wu,Yan-Hwa and former CTO of TSMC Jack Sun, the two sides signed a cooperation agreement on May 20, 2013 and held an unveiling ceremony “National Chiao Tung University-TSMC Joint Research Center” was officially established.

This initiative extends across various faculties including but not limited to electrical engineering, science, engineering, management, law, and public health. This elevation in research and development standards aims to lay a solid foundation for the future of Taiwan's semiconductor industry.
